Cool Room Panel Calculator
Pick your core — EPS, PIR or Rockwool — set the room and roof, and watch the build in 3D. Get panel counts, insulated area, live R-value and an indicative supply cost in real time, then send the spec for a firm quote.
Live estimate
Panel counts use each side length ÷ cover width (rounded up); roof panels use 1.0 m cover with a slope factor. Costs are supply-only from real published EPS $/m². Exact schedule depends on layout, panel length and openings.

Numbers you can plan and order from
How many panels do I need for a cool room?
Add the wall run (perimeter) and the ceiling span, then divide by the panel cover width — 1150 mm is standard. This calculator does it for you: set length, width and height and it returns wall panels, roof panels and a total, with an adjustable waste allowance so you never under-order.
Which core should I choose — EPS, PIR or Rockwool?
EPS is the value choice for most chillers and dry stores. PIR delivers the highest R-value per millimetre (100 mm PIR is the freezer standard) and is the most expensive core. Rockwool is chosen where non-combustible fire performance matters; it sits between EPS and PIR on cost. Switch cores in the calculator to compare R-value and indicative cost instantly.
What does the R-value mean here?
R-value is thermal resistance: panel thickness in metres divided by the core’s thermal conductivity (λ). Higher is better. For example 50 mm EPS ≈ R1.39, while 50 mm PIR ≈ R2.27 for the same thickness — that’s why freezers use thick PIR.
Is the cost a firm quote?
No. It’s a supply-only estimate: panels priced at real published EPS $/m² by thickness (35 mm $32, 50 mm $42, 75 mm $55), plus your door package ($599 or $499) and channel trims. PIR and Rockwool figures are indicative — the EPS rate × a core factor (PIR is the most expensive core, Rockwool sits between). Excludes GST, delivery and install — use “Copy summary” and send it for a firm quote.
